I took this shot while lying on the floor in a Benedictine monastery in Bruges .... as you do!
I particularly like the way the sun shining through the windows has been caught, 'enhancing' the polished floor.

I took this shot at a recent exhibition, Eyes Wide Open, in the cathedral.

The hands are made from Plaster of Paris, and were installed in the Lady Chapel ... some seem to be resting, resigned to their destiny, while others seem to be in poses of prayer or praise. I loved just sitting and looking at these while they were here.

the colour of the heather is strikingly vivid!
the heather seems to take the whole scene and the exposure seems to have allowed the rock to absorb the color radiating from the heather as well.

I spent the first 3 weeks at the start of this year in Seattle which, although beautiful, was a pretty grey place for most of the time. People kept talking about how amazing a sight it would be when 'the mountain came out'. (the mountain being Mt Ranier, a volcano, hidden for most of the winter in clouds.

I had an excited call towards the end of my visit from my host calling be back home as 'the mountain was out' so I got onto the roof to take a few pictures.

Seeing the beauty of Mount Ranier with the sun shining on her was a truly unforgettable experience.

I took this photo on a visit to Tyneham.
I like the way the green of the trees outside the door reflect on the walls behind the coat hooks if this defunct school.
The green is not, however, the primary 'reflect in this image as the hooks cayuse us to reflect on what happened to the children whose names are still under his hooks; the children who had to leave this village with their parents ...
I reflected on how the actions of adults have a profound effect on the lives of children

I took this shot at Bognor Regis during the late afternoon.
I am quite enjoying the way that the exposure takes this lifebuoy, a symbol of hope to the distressed, gives quite a sinister feel to the object.
It makes me think the lifebuoy has a mind of it's own - Hitchcock style ... saying 'you might think I'll save you ... but mwahahaha!

While at Porth, near Newquay, I took photos of friends surfing and kayaking in the waves.

I like the way we have caught the water bowing over the boy and the implications here suggesting a struggle between humanity and nature.

the theme at Photo Friday this week is nature.

While in Seattle I rook this photo of the city with Mount ranier in the background.

We like to thank our 'human made' structures are magnificent and permanent.

The buildings here of Seattle around 50 - 150 years old, and look pretty fragile alongside the 500 000 year permanency of the volcano Ranier.

The sky, totally natural and stunning and yet ever changing in her beauty.

We may think we control the world .... but nature dominates the scene
